Perfect Nonsense: Matthew to play Jeeves in West End

The Guardian has announced that Matthew Macfadyen will be starring as Jeeves with Stephen Mangan as Wooster in Perfect Nonsense, a comedy double act based largly on a 1938 book The Code of the Woosters.

Matthew will be the brilliant, unflappable butler to Mangan's endearingly idiotic Bertie.

The play is due to open at the Duke of York's Theatre on 30 October after short runs at Richmond Theatre and the Brighton Theatre Royal.
