The Daily Mail has an interesting article about the new biopic Enid, as well as Enid Blyton's life. 

The darker revelations, which will dissolve the image of Blyton conveyed by her 753 much-loved books, are part of a brilliant new television biopic, starring Helena Bonham Carter as the author.

'Enid's self-awareness was brilliant and she was incredibly controlling, too,' explains Bonham Carter. 'I was attracted to the role because she was bonkers. She was an emotional mess and quite barking mad.

BBC Enid website adds clips and photos

The Enid website has added 2 clips from Enid.  The first clip deals with a radio interview in which Enid Blyton claims to be the guardian of children's morals while disclaiming that someone else wrote her novels.  The second clip involves a tea party in contest winning children are invited but her children are not.

A reminder to all that Matthew Macfadyen and Helena Bonham Carter will star in Enid this Monday November 16, 2009 on BBC4 at 9:00 pm.  The drama chronicles the controversial life of children's author Enid Blyton.

Ian Wylie's Helena Bonham Carter Interview

Ian Wylie has posted an interview with Helena Bonham Carter in preparation of Enid, which airs on BBC4 this Monday (November 16, 2009).

Fans are expected to break out lashings of ginger beer when the film is screened. The TV team put a bottle in each actor’s dressing room to get them in the mood for filming. Helena’s verdict? “I love ginger beer.”

Enid DVD Release

Cover of Enid DVDThe DVD cover has been revealed as well as a more realistic date for its release. The Enid DVD now appears to be available 30th November, 2009.

The Enid DVD will be coming exclusively to Amazon from Universal Playback on the 30th November and tradewide from January 2010.
