Matthew Macfadyen hoped to return to Ashes to Ashes

Matthew Macfadyen's hopes of appearing in Ashes To Ashes again have turned to dust. The hubby of Keeley Hawes, who plays Alex Drake, guested as oddball charity worker Gill Holis in the first series. He said: "I pleaded for another part. But once you're in it, you can't do it again."

It seems several people have already received their Ashes to Ashes DVD and have watched some of the behind the scenes video.  Dean Andrews, Keeley Hawes, Phil Glenister and the writers comment on Matthew Macfadyen's guest star appearance in episode 7.

Ashes to Ashes Series One DVD

Ian Wylie of the Manchester Evening News has posted a detailed look at the Ashes to Ashes DVD which will be released on 5 May, 2008.  There isn't much mention of the seventh episode in which Matthew Macfadyen guest stars, but spouse, Keeley Hawes does narrate several of the audio commentaries.
