I happened upon the poems of William Carlos Williams by accident. I especially love The Plums, the cadence of the words as written is just delightful. Visiting darcylicious forum, I found MM reciting the very same poem! I think he's got it goin' on with acting but his spoken word is outta this world! I could listen to it over and over again. Hey, what am I saying - I can!

Well, I rented the new Pride and Prejudice last week, thinking it probably would not be as good as the BBC version, but I was pleasantly surprised, especially by Matthew Macfadyen as Mr. Darcy. His performance was amazingly nuanced and understated. I had a heated debate with a few friends about how I thought his performance was head and shoulders above Colin Firth's. He grew on me gradually, as the movie progressed, just as he grew on Elizabeth, so by the end, I was just as in love with him as she! What got me the most was his declaration of love--saying the word "love" three times in a row directly from the heart. I wanted to melt, and I replayed that part over and over because it touched me so profoundly. After recovering from the film (whew!), I decided to look up Matthew Macfadyen to see what other work he has accomplished. I just finished watchind Death at a Funeral, which was hysterical! Matthew plays a completely different type of character and is brilliant. He is obviously a gifted actor, and I look forward to watching his other films, as well as the new ones to be released. Mr. Macfadyen, you've got a new, devoted fan here on the other side of the ocean. Congrats and best wishes!
I saw Pride and Prejudice for the first time tonight and was mesmerized by the acting abilities of all. Mr. Macfadyen was absolutely wonderful! It was a shame he didn't have a more active role even though he was a main character. Beautiful man! His voice! It sent wonderful chills down my back, you could almost hear him whispering sweet nothings in your ear. OOO, delicious!! I know that everyone on here has said something about his voice, but it can't be helped. I know that persons who train in the drama field work with their voices to create desired reactions from their audiences and he has obviously learned his art well! I wish him and his family a safe and well life! Enjoy life while you are on top! And Mr. Macfadyen, you are definitly heading up! Congratulations on you upcoming films and I am looking forward to seeing them! Sincerely and Bless you!

Actors should have an excellent timbre -Äußerlichkeiten are essential definitely - Matthew is just blessed with both.
If one hears a close(familiar) voice, a picture of the speaker(spokesperson) appears with his(its) mental eye.

Actors don't have to have a good voice, they have to captivate us with their presence and way of saying and not saying things.
Matthew's voice is extraordinary (yes, everyone comments on the voice, but there is not enough to be said about this magnificent voice) capturing us with the slightest movement and subtlest gesture while his voice just breaks my heart everytime I hear him.
He is indeed a fine and versatile actor.
He is great actor.
And He is so georgous.
Stumbled on P&P on cable in NY and I was capitivated by MM's velvety voice and found his ability to change from man to boy and back again in the film....mesmerizing. Even though that role limited his acting ability, I was hooked and couldn't wait to see and HEAR him again. He is truly a gifted actor whose other works better illustrate his superb creative abilities. He's also very easy on the eyes.

I have returned again and again to this site just to hear Matthew read that Scripture verse. I assume it is a Scripture verse, sounds like it. Does anyone know where I can buy something like that or hear more of Matthew reading Scripture? I think his voice must be what God's voice sounds like!! :)
I saw Matthew Macfadyen for the first time in P&P and fell in love with both him and his acting!! Which made me go out and buy every movie he has been in plus Spooks and watched Warriors on YouTube! He does an awesome job in every feature, I am sure he will go far, I would love to see him someday in a live play and hear that wonderful voice in person! Keeley and his kids are blessed to have him and I wish him the best in all his endeavors
